Avatars Announcement

Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, we have a new avatar policy. We would like everyone to choose an avatar from the defaults, so that the board has a nice look-and-feel. This also avoids annoying, unsuitable, or offensive avatarts (Dale, I will always treasure the memmories).

The plan is for the admins to upload avatars to match the color and model of the car you really own. Those of us with exterior mods will have to live with the 'stock' image. Bart and I have already made avatars for all Mk4 Golf, Jetta and GTI colors (we think), plus the 20th GTI's and the 337.

If your car/color is not listed, please post your request here and we will add it to the list of available avatars.

No plans to do this for a while... but anything is possible in the future. Right now I think we are going to see how this works out...

I don't mind the cars alsong as we can say take a photo of our current and PS it down to that size or i'll take back Mr smith if I can.. but meh i like the new forums a ton so its all good right now

My avatar's car has shitty wheels. Where are the 17" longbeaches? Or even monte-carlo's on the GLI? I can't even find the BBW wolfsburg wheels.

just a suggestion:

I do like the uber-clean look of NVD. BUT, that said, having uniform avatars (and limited selection) makes it hard to individualize each person here. I can't whip through the thread anymore looking for the breast-massage, or flaming head (or even the waving flanders! )

--why not just enforce a PG-13 policy? Or "screen" avatars, of that was the problem?

Screening isn't a bad idea... one problem with custom avatars is that it changes the atmosphere a lot for new members who don't really "know us" yet. Stay tuned, we'll see what happens.

I like the new look and the site works good now, but let us have our own Avatars, it make it more orginal.

I really like the new look of NVD. It looks like a more sophiscated site now, but one problem is: There's not Passat Wagon avatars.

Blue Lagoon Jetta avatar please. The current blue one looks halfway between Galactic Blue and Blue Lagoon.
