Looking for someone in Calgary who knows how to install springs on a 2007 VW GTI. I'm looking at lowering my car a bit and want to make it a DIY for 2 reasons: don't want to pay a dealer an arm and a leg to do it, and 2, i want to learn how to do it myself so i can do it myself next time. Anyone willing? i'm not looking to do it until the spring but if anyone is willing message me. you wont go home empty handed.

Re: Anyone in calgary know how to install springs?
I have seen it done, it depends on the car, you remove the wheel, unbolt the top of the strut mount, I think you use a spring compression tool to compress the spring and get it out, then reverse process to put new one in.
You should have no trouble finding a tutorial with pics on vwvortex or else youtube it.KR

I have done it on my rabbit and will be doing it again come spring time. You will need two specialty tools both available at Concept 1. Or when the time comes you can borrow mine. I don't have the strut spreader because I bought the cheaper one that only lasts like 1 time. Spend the extra and buy the good strut spreader. Even if you plan on using it just for the one time install you will be using that tool like 10 times and it makes a HUGE difference.
