Disposing of old rims

Anyone know if there is anywhere in particular to dispose of old damaged rims? Do people just take them to the dump or is there somewhere special? Thanks!

what are they?

steelies? or aluminum?

i'd say the dump.. but if they are aluminum and look OK you can do cool stuff with them like make coffee tables..

a member on her bent a brock wheel on his GTI like 5 years ago and made a coffee table out of it! looked awesome

there is a metal recycler in the SE, thats the best I can think of.

Take them to the metal recycler, youll get money back for them rather than paying to get rid of them at the dump

Thanks for the ideas guys, I might actually try and clean a couple of them up and make a coffee table out of them, although it would be a bit heavy.

The metal recyclers sounds like a good bet, then I can get some cash towards a new set of rims...
