  • A few questions about chipping from a newbie

I bought the 2004 TDI PD sport (5 SPD, 100 HP, 181 FT/LBS) and Ive heard great things about upsolute and rocketchip. Are their any reps here in calgary that could answer my questions?
Can anyone direct them my way.

    Thanks.

OK, does it void the warranty? Do you really get the HP claims I read about on the web sites - I've read up to 130 HP and 221 FT/Lbs for my TDI PD. If so is there anything else I should consider as a mod to prevent premature of vital parts (turbo)?
Is there any issue with the clutch failing prematurely?

And from your site Boy Racer, you mention you can bring it back to factory specs if needed, how much of a hassle (cost) is it to do that and is it even required.

          Thanks.

The increases really are amazing on the PD engines, they go extremely well and help with mileage a little too. As long as you keep up with general maintainance, you should not have to worry about any other parts. Just get the chip and enjoy.

Warranty can be a concern for people but it is a very well designed product that operates and looks just like the factory code. I have never had any customers have problems on their car that wasn't covered under warranty.

None of the PD chips I have done have complained of clutch slip. Only 1 or 2 of the older style engines have experience this from all the cars that I have chipped.

I do not charge for the return to factory code but due to the nature of the PD ECU's each time requires a full day to send the file to Europe for modification. There is no charge for this.
