Props to Simon for a super smooth upgrade of my ECU (2004 Golf TDI-PD). WOW, what an improvement. 3rd gear is my new best friend. Pulls beautifully, a huge difference.

The power throughout is really smooth. It smoked a little for the first 10 blocks, then nothing after that.

Only did a short test drive tonight, but really really impressed so far. The real test will be this weekend as I'm heading out to BC. I'll report back next week with more detail...

Thanks Simon for a worry free upgrade. Being one of the first Upsolute PD's (on this side of the pond), I gotta say everything went great. Popped the ECU in, closed the hood, turned the key, and drove off. (oh, and then I got a cheesy-ass grin ... that I'm still wearing)

    Cheers,
    Brasco

... also installed a RSB. Tomorrow I start a clutch fund.

How much does this chip cost? I'm defintly interested in getting this done to my car, what kind of results would you estimate on a automatic?

                Re: Up'd PD

The Retail on this is $540 but I am cutting the price down to an even $500 for the next 2 months!

The results on the auto are the same as a manual except for the fact that you need one even more! It is always nice to have a good torquey engine for automatics.

                    Re: Up'd PD

Well, the figure I have been given are an increase of 35HP and 50ft/lbs. The previous generation TDi always dynoed higher than expected, mainly because they were underrated from the factory I am sure this is also the case with the PD. We will see when we get one on a dyno.

                          Re: Up'd PD

Well guys (and gals), I'm onto day 3 with my chipped up baby and it's awesome. It's like I have a brand new car. The worst part is being stuck behind someone at around 2500 rpm's and not being able to pass. You can feel the car begging you to punch it. The power really is awesome. I took a buddy for a ride and he couldn't beleive the improvement.

For anyone with a PD ... YOU'VE GOT TO GET CHIPPED UP!!! You will not be disapointed.

The only 2 upgrades I was considering was a chip and a rear sway bar ... now that I have both, I've got this little devil on my left shoulder wanting more...

Next stop, BC. I'll let you guys know how the ride was.
