  • Looking for somewhere to get my rods done

I'm heading back to university soon and don't have the time or know how to pull and swap my con rods on my B5 A4 1.8T. I am pushing 300AWHP and I have bigger plans in mind, so new rods, retainers, valves and springs would be beautiful... If I supply rods and others bits where abouts in Calgary would be my best deal/bet. I know I will be spending a fair bit, but I have to at this point.

Lots of shops will tell you if you supply the parts, no warranty.

      Warranty isn't an issue.

I've just spent a good 5 days straight under the hood working on this car, the clutch swap almost finished me off. I'd just like brand new forged H frame rods. Preferably done this month. I have a set of INA Rods laying around from a deal I got, as well as some solid valves and titanium retainers. Just need springs.

Any idea what ballpark I'm looking at? I realize it's a full engine pull and not cheap. I was talking to Sim at ECUProgram and he said he could probably arrange it but he's a BMW guy.

Multiple thousands of dollars. Your essentially doing a full rebuild. You'll have a couple thousand in parts alone.

Only after AEB 058's. I found one in Alberta with 77000 on it for $900, may have to take it. Can't really afford it now, but may have to credit it.

Not sure if I'm keeping the car though, still really wanting a BMW or a V6 bi-turbo. Anyone wanna trade
