What are you looking for, specifically? A replacement 01E for the S, I assume?

i think so. i'm not sure if it is the tranny yet. it might be bent shifter linkage. i haven't looked at it yet. i wont be back in alberta for another few weeks.

the shifter is a mess. super wiggly and locks up in wierd places. i honestly don't think anyone else could drive my car if they tried. u gotta push it in wierd directions to find gears lol

i haven't found first gear in a few weeks now

Yeah, it could be that the shifter adjustment bolts have been loosened enough that the shifter has moved out of alignment, or the shifter linkage at the trans could have loosened off or broken. I would definitely check those two things first.

Phew. I thought you meant the other kind of tranny that you frequently get!

i took the cover off a few weeks ago when it started acting up. i adjusted it by loosening the bolts and sliding it around. it didn't help.

is the linkage a rod or a wire? cause i'm pretty sure it's bent

So there are two bolts in the shifter box that you saw when you were making adjustments. The one on the right should be dead centered in the slot that it sits in. The other should be adjusted so the shifter sits straight up in neutral, with maybe a slight lean either to the right or to the left, depending on your individual car.

The linkage is actually a series of 3 rods. The cross rod that connects the two main rods (the main rods are connected to the adjustment bolts that you were playing with in the shifter box) has cheap plastic connection points, and after 10 years they tend to break. That may be what's wrong with your car.

If you told me that the shifter feels solid and crisp, but you can't get into gear easily, then I'd be thinking clutch or tranny, but luckily your problem is probably shifter/linkage related.
