I thought I was going in for a quick alignment Friday. One of my new front summer tires got chewed up within a few months.
rewind:
During this winter I smoked a parking block hidden in the snow on Metis Trail,(a big thanks to Bronco's snow plowing bitches). That resulted is a brand new 17" studded snow tire to get a huge gash, and a rim dented so bad that I had to buy new rims.
Well a little while later my Wheel bearing went on that side.
went to Paul, who got me parts and lent me the shop to use. Hub and bearing were shot, replaced. Yay I think everything is good now.
....fast forward to last week where I notice one of my new front tire is bald. Booked in for an alignment.
Discovered the lower control arm was slightly bent and possibly the spindle also, so Paul ordered parts yesterday.
Today I went in to swap parts then do the alignment. With the spindle off, The strut was also bent....got a new strut also.
Installed all the new parts, (some screwups on my part - didn't assemble spindle/hub properly first time so wasted a wheel bearing).
Sub frame was tweaked also, made some adjustments, and got alignment done.
I spent 8 hours at the shop today (a bunch of down time in there too), expecting to do a quick 2-3 hour job.
Thanks so much for lending me the tools, shop, expertise, and parts connections to help me get the job done in relatively short time and notice.
