the unknown connector has got a wire spring lock thing on it (maybe, your camera focused on the hood and not items in question), to insert the connector, the wire must be pulled out some, connector inserted, then the wire spring pushed back (if it is one of those connectors).

Also the keying looks on the connector looks wrong (you know that already).
Check the connector itself, look for corrosion/dirt in the contacts, that would tell you if it was plugged in or not.

there is a possibilty the harness is hidden under something.

If you have wiring diagrams look to see what color wires are supposed to be in the valve connector.
