Ok so i drive a 99.5 vr6... and i got multiple problems lately

    1. I've seen a lot of jettas driving around with one dim headlight, always wondered what that was about, now it happened to me. might just be the bulb so ill try replacing that tomorrow...

    2. Coolant light comes on then disappears? the cars usually not driven on weekdays and just out on the weekends to work or out or whatever. Ill drive a half block and the coolant light will flash then will disappear after about five blocks, ive checked for leaks and found nothing, and even topped the coolant off

    3. System running too rich, scanned the car myself for this CEL, probably maf?

    4. Drivers door lock. This ones complicated, my keyfobs buttons dont work so i dont have any keyless entry which means i have to manualy lock the doors. so when i put the key in the lock and turn it right i get the horn sound but i can still open the door which causes the alarm to go off. To actaully lock it i have to put the key in and hold it in the locked position for a second and it will lock...

Lol thats all i can think of for now... a sad list :( any info would be appreciated i can probably bring the car in sometime

oh and last thing, i bought the car used and in the recipts i got i see evidence of a block heater but cant find ****...

    i feel lke such a n00b :(

    Re: multiple questions

coolant light could be the coolant sensor. there was a recall a long while back. The new one has a different colour top on it. Don't remember which is which, but if you search around on here you'll probably find it. Headlight is probably just a bulb. The keyless not working probably means a door pin is hooped. They are built in to the latches, which probably makes this the most expensive of your issues. I had to replace my driver's side latch because the car never knew the door was closed, and hence you have weird problems trying to lock the car.

Doesn't the maf usually trow a code if it's acting up? not sure about this.

      Re: multiple questions

1 Check for burnt connection on the headlight socket (along story short VW lost a lawsuit with GM and had to use some of their product on in the VW line... seen problems with your frt turn signals yet, you will). 2&3 The new sensor is green and is pretty easy to change as long as the factory did not put the clip in backwards (a pain with the VR6 engine). Does you fuel pump prime/light on lower part of dr door turn on when you open the door? If not you will probably need to replace the mechanism ($225 for the part (I think)) and reprogram your remotes.
