Got a 98 vw gti 2 door that i need painted, how much would you estimate a simple gloss black paint job would cost? The car is fully sanded down prepped and ready to be sprayed.

Materials would be about $1500 for a car that small, maybe another $1000ish for labour. Probably anywhere between $2000-$3000. Roughly

I have to ask what kind of paint are you using to justify the $1500 materials cost?

I am in the middle of starting my bodywork / disassemble and looking for a local paint job possibly. Here is a picture of my car currently.

You would be surprised how much automotive paint costs..

What paint line do you guys have at your shop then? If I bring the car fully primed / block sanded what would you charge to spray full exterior factory blue?

We just swapped over from DeBeers to Lesonal.
I would say give our Loc a call tomorrow for a better estimate. I don't do any estimating. Just rough guesses!

Lesonal, perfect that is the same paint that I got to do my jams and such. For a accurate estimate should I tow it on over and go from there or ?

I would call in and ask what your options are. We are really swamped at the moment. They might suggest you to take a lot of pictures, and send them in via email, or something like that!

Hey all,

Just a note that I am no longer with Cosmos, I decided it was time to move to a new shop, that being said I can still recommend Cosmos as they are absolutely one of the best shops in city. If a mod sees this could you please remove "(Cosmos)" from the thread title? I left on good terms and everything but can't represent them anymore for obvious reasons!

Ballpark most likely between $2000-3000. Are there any dents? That bumper and moulding likely will need replacing but the quarter panel should only require some minor bodywork
