  • Best place for paint?

I'm looking to get some rusty fenders replaced this spring and want some opinion on who to go to. It's a silver car which is notoriously hard to match. Everyone on here seems to like cosmo but i was reading on beyond that screaming paintworks and maranello's are good paint places as well. Price isn't really that big of a deal as long as its done right. I don't need any body work done. I will just buy new fenders, get them fitted then paint blend them up. Who do you recommend?

Does anybody have experience with blending silver on their own car? Little nervous about it not matching.

i have only ever had to get paint work done once and it was on my silver mk4 gti. I had it done at screamin and was quite inpressed with the work and the job they did at color matching. There was only one angle it didnt seem to match 100% but I was the only one who could find it, other than that it looked factory, i would recommend screamin'

A good friend is the GM at a Western Paint, I don't see a reason to go anywhere else.

I have a buddy who does some side work, he did a hatch for a 337 gti and butt matched the silver and it was as good as I could ever see anyone get a match on silver and I'm pretty picky....

I'm personally scared to have anyone try to match the Tornado Red...

My red Cadillac was a nightmare to match, they claim they painted my bumpers 5 times before they called down the paint rep to do the match himself and it took him 2 more times to get it right. As long as the color is what the car says it is, then you should be OK to get it matched easily.

I have heard that Screaming Paintworks is cheap and good, but not great... I dunno, I would go with someone who paints luxury cars all the time if you want an exact match.

Wife put the front of her car into the back of a Neon last week so it's going to need to get fixed.

I've used Loc on many cars but never figured out how to pronounce his name. is it Loc like "Lock"? or Loc like "Low"?
