  • Opinion on cost please.

Just wondering what you would say this would cost to repair? It is just surfaces ratches in a tiny little Nick there was no damage to my vehicle. The douche cut me off when I was already stopping I avoided him the best I could but still nicked him. Even though he admitted he cut me off since it was on the rear still my fault.
Are there any shops in the north that won't fleece me for this?
    Thanks in advanceo

If you have any witnesses you might be able to get him with changing lanes without having enough room. Just a thought as i had a friend whose car got totalled because somebody pulled out of a stopped lane when he was cruising by and it was deemed not his fault.

Rush hour traffic so no one stopped, the guy is an ass and knows its his fault but was like o well it is from behind so your fault. So now I pay and invest in a dash cam that I can record my commute so I do not have to deal with assholes and have my own digital witiness

I'm starting to think I should invest in a dash cam... My gf had something similar happen on Friday. Someone pulled out in front of her around a blind corner and my gf his the other person (my gf had right of way). Fortunately there was lots of traffic, so lots of witnesses who said the other person was at fault, even though they tired to blame it on my gf. The police said the other person was at fault, so fortunately my gf is off the hook and she was ok. Her car was a write off, though...

i had the same thing happen years ago. was in an old car where the bumper isn't so flush and the guys rear bumper hooked my front one and ripped a portion of it of as he cut me off. Same deal too, he said it was his fault but after said in done, it was mine.

I'm no autobody expert but I'm gonna guess its over $1000 to fix. Good luck.

I'd bet about the $1,500 mark, maybe a little bit less depending on severity/repairing or replacing the bumper. Can't say without seeing it personally.

Just FYI for everyone here though you now don't have to make a police report unless it is over $2000, it's been this way for a while now.

Everything is over 1g to fix these days

Get a new bumper cover and get it painted, than install it yourself, I'd say that is the best and cheapest option.

ken king was telling me about a new local shop that specializes in small paint repairs. the name escapes me, but give him a shout over at C1 and i am sure he would be happy to point you in the right direction

                    Re: Opinion on cost please.

No need to replace the bumper cover all of the white marks washed off and the only physical damage is a 1" gouge that is a 1/8 deep and then a little bit of paint. I was told by one guy the bumper cover would not need to even be removed and only a small section of the bumper would have to be painted and blended to repair. SO hopefully I will not get screwed to hard.

Fixing that gouge takes time though.

If I was fixing it I would spend a good 8 hours on it to get it to the point where its ready for paint.

936 to fix not that the guy will ever get it done, I guess thats the price you pay rather then having an accedent on your record for 5 years
