Every once in a while my passenger side HID won't light up, ive tried turning on and off the lights but still nothing. Then the next I drive the car it lights up fine. Any Idea what it might be?
Faulty Ignighter? When the lights are turned on there is an ignighter to start the arc. Maybe that part is faulty. It's all part of the ballast assembly.
I've read on the Vortex that people put a relay in there so that the power being drawn by both lights upon start up is equal. I'm not sure if that is the fix to this problem, but try doing a search for HID relays on there and see what comes up.
Mine was doing this for a little while too, passenger side. My investigation never found the problem, but it seemed to fix itself. Most of my research was pointing to heavier gauge wires in the euro golf than the NA which resulted in just a little bit less juice to the headlight then needed to ignite the headlight. I was going to put in relays to fix this, but never got around to it.
I did find that turning the switch on and off a couple times usually got the headlight on.
Good luck, and let us know if you figure out what was wrong... especially if mine start acting up again.
