I thought that the 1.8t had a weak clutch (or rather the engine makes too much power for the stock clutch) and that an aftermarket setup or one from a VR6 was the way to go.

Upgrading to a VR6 clutch is not necessary untill you chip your car....the stock clutch is fine if the car is relatively un-moddified.

Bah, still the original stock clutch at 91,xxxkms on my 1.8t, and it makes 300+lb/ft torque, no slippage. A lot of it is how you drive, dunno, maybe I drive like an old man.
