  • ipod shuffle in car?

So i bought an ipod shuffle now i want to use it in my car.

i have an aftermarket kenwood deck, wouldnt it be as simple as getting a 3.5mm headphone jack cable that converts into rca that i could plug into the input at the back of the deck? and then putting the deck on like aux mode?

i dont care about powering the ipod ill just charge it at home.
    thanks
    Justin

      Yes, that's possible
on the kenwood deck I have there is no line input (as with most kenwoods)
you will have to get an adapter for the cd input that converts it into a line in.

they are available on e-bay, you can make one if you get the parts (need 1 resistor, 1 mini-din connector, and 1 audio cable)

      edit:
      here's a link on a how to

ya i researched it a bunch yesterday on the internet. i pretty much found the same thing you recommended, i have to get the auxiliary input adapter, i already got the rca cable, i found some on ebay for like $7 compared to futureshop selling something similar for a pioneer deck for like $39.

it actually works awesome that way. I have a sony deck with rca jacks and I just drilled a little hole in the console and shoved the cord through it, and it works awesome.

p.s this is my first post im jeff i drive a 91 jetta td (when its running )

i'm doing the same thing with an rca cable running to the back of the deck. i'm in the process of making something similar to this but with the switches on the other side close to the instrument cluster.
