New Passat?

hey my dad is thinking of geting my step mom a brand new 2007 passat wagen for christams.
i was very in touch with vw a few years ago i worked at a dealership and owend 3 volkswagens but i havent been keeping up on thim in the last few years. how do they comepare to the old gen like a 2004?

if any one has one or knows much about thim, some feedback would be welcomed.
