  • 2.5" Brullen Downpipe installed!

Yay!!! Nice to see the newveedub representing at concept1 =P

Well to the review.... Install took about 1.5 hours and boy oh boy does the DV sound loud. I didnt think it would make much difference but yikes... it sounds like a SUPER pppsssh now. I think I do need the mounts. When I get around 3k RPM's the car makes some weird grinding sound or something.... I'm pretty sure its the downpipe rubbing against something... or maybe a leak. Even when I brake I hear some weird noise.

The downpipe I bought from volinder was missing the stock adapter and downpipe gasket. Costed an extra $36 bucks.

But I do notice a difference in the higher RPM's .... it just flys. In the lower RPMs it seems a little bit slower but when i reach 2500 rpm DAMN, but thats more likely the tiptronic transmission.

P.S. Hey Peter does the boost gauge take more then 2 hours to install? Thats how long they told me it would take at concept1.

Well well well...... It looks like I just got a CEL while driving home tonight. 100% sure it was from the downpipe since I never got the cel before.

now you need a vag to see whats going on.. O2 sensor? i honestly couldn't really tell you with a DP. .my guess is the O2 sensor or maybe your maf just chocked but I doubt that one..

Just curious. Did you ever get the cel sorted out?

The Check Engine Light is being shown because the old catalytic converter was running with temperature spec, but the new one which was included with the 2.5" DP is running better and more effiecent, thats why its throwing out a CEL. The Concept1 mechanic was telling me this. I dont have the new motor mounts installed which is a real pain! It rattle and hums like crazy. Also my O2 sensor numbers are jumping around like a little school girl.
