  • shaved engine bays?

i've been looking at pictures of shaved engine bays latley decided weather or not to do it. one of my questions is. i know most of the wiring gets routed through the frame rails. but where does the coolant resovior bottle go? same with the washer fluid bottle? i understand that the washer fluid usually gets deleted. but can it be relocated? the car will only be used in summer months so if i can't be relocated, should i just get rid of it?

    and a pic for clicks!

hah! then i can't drive in the rain i'll probobly just delete the washer lines then but keep the wipers.

as for the inline coolant. how do you know when you have enough? do you just add some when the light comes on?

same with the heater core thing. (i think thats what it is) located in the top left under where the rain tray would be. theres a massive mesh thing on mine, what happens to this?

I have shaved the washer nozzles and have no trouble in the rain with just wipers.

As for the deleting the expansion tank, you won't have a light anymore since the coolant level sensor is in the tank is it not?

I love that look, don't think I could live without the washer fluid tho'. After all I do live in Calgary and bad wipers are scary enough, never mind no washer fluid.

those VRs are so sweet - and so not practical too. That's probably what makes them so cool. Nice show cars, but not much else.

yea! with the money he put into that car he could have bought a new R32 then he ended up selling it for something crazy low like $8000 (well thats what the rumors are)

Shaved engine bays make a car look like a toy. Don't make your car look like a trailer queen by doing it. Just make it nice and clean and I think when you go to repair something you will be a lot happier.

there's no engine cover for an ABA. i don't think i'm going to completly shave the bay. i got rid on the washer bottle. and nozzels. but i'm keeping the coolant resovior just in case.

the electrical that i have left after going stand alone, will be run through the frame rails. and battery will be relocated to the trunk. then i'm just going to clean up all the seams and holes in the engine bay. and repaint it.
