My insurance company asked too. But in the past I've had a car broken into and they covered personal items that were taken... so why wouldn't they cover mods?

They probably want to know so they can boost your rates by saying you are at a higher risk of getting stuff jacked.

yea.. although after i put my kit on it would be nice to have it covered in case i get smashed (which i hope to god never happens) i guess then i can try another kit like oetty or something.. i'm real paranoid about my cd player though.. i can see my car from my building downtown and i still take off the face and bring it inside with me.. even though the lot is patrolled and all that... too paranoid.. except i trust my neighbourhood better and leave it on.. **** i don't even 'club' my car.. bah.. if they want to steal it they are gonna..

blair, why would you want a TT 3.2? hrmm. 225 hp 1.8t (easily tunable) or the 240hp vr6 (not easily tunable)

imo, its 15 hp, its like us picking the 1.8t over the vr6 in our mk4's.. its just more cost effective to go boost.

Yeah I know but if everyone thinks an R32 is such a great car, the TT3.2 seems to be the closest thing to it so it sounds interesting. I am not saying I would get one but I would definitely like to try one out when they make there appearence here.

plus you get the new DSG trannie aka sequential in the new TT and i guess all the MK5s are getting it too.. i like my manual but those are just as quick and apparantly just as fun since u still have to shift..

Is the 225hp TT really as tunable as the 1.8T's in our cars? I would guess that the reason our cars are 180 and the TT is 225 stock is that the TT is already "tuned" so to speak. I am sure you can still squeeze a bit more out of it, but getting over 240 would I think require a new turbo of some kind?

A TT 225 has a different turbo K04 I believe and has dual intercoolers, thus providing the bulk of the 45 more hp then a VW 1.8T, but chipping a TT225 will still give you more hp, upsolute gives you 252hp. So you still have a fair amount of potential in the TT.
