    Rieger Illuminated Shift Knob!

    I was very happy to see my new shift knob came into today but I have a few questions. I read the write-up on the vortex about how to install it but Im just unsure about a power source. In the pictures it looks like it is just running to the back of a cigarette lighter, which would work but wouldnt it always be on? Im hoping to hook mine up to my dimmer switch so it will come on when my headlights and dash illuminate. Hope you few with these already installed could just clear up my questions. Thanks

    Mine is hooked up to the cig lighter and it is not on all the time.

        It's not the power of the cig, it's the power that lights it up. Which is dimmer controlled. One of the first mods I did, I love mine. But unless you have more than 2 wires, that's it.

            Yeah, it hit me last night when I remembered there was a light connected with that cigarette lighter. Thanks for your help guys, I can't wait to get this in.

                I ordered mine from www.riegeretc.com, came in about a week, and cost right around 125 w/ shipping. Very worth it, now if I could only find a soldering iron I can get this baby in. Like its been said before, I think its worth it to get it with the silver ring around the base, goes well with the interior.
