  • Montgomery's Going out of business?

Hey guys I don’t know if you've seen my thread in the WTB section but I’m just in need of a few things for my interior. Weird thing is I called Montgomery auto today and they said they have no interior components for an MK4. This seemed really weird as I thought they specialized in Volkswagens.

I stopped at SCFC this afternoon I one lady there said she thinks Montgomery’s is actually going out of business. Anyways just curious if you guys have heard the same thing, and on that note is there any other junkyards or recyclers that will have MK4 interior parts?

Thanks, and sorry for the long post

I thought Montgomery pulled out of Calgary a while ago.

As far as I know they have been moving most of their operation to their other yard in Hope, my guess is because it is a lot cheaper to run a business there.

Not to my knowledge. They moved to another location on McLeod Trail and I've been a couple times. Looks like they finally organized their parts. Frank works there most of the time and Bernie's out on the acreage. I'll have to ask one of them tomorrow as he's looking up some parts for me.

I had heard they were getting out of the business/getting out of town over this past summer.

On newer stuff, they are. But they have some good stuff. I talked to Frank today. They've got a yard in hope and a warehouse in Calgary. They're not going anywhere.

So how do they not have any small interior parts for an MK4? Im really baffled by that.

I know for a fact the original owner sold the biz and now just doing some new part sales. As for them going out of business, I don't think they are.

They have been trying to sell it for years, if they did good on them. maybe then we can get a wrecker in town that will sell used parts at a more reasonable price.
