  • Cold Weather Package

    Hey Guys,
Do you know if it's possible to get the cold weather package (heated seats and/or heated Windshield Washer Nozzles) added on to an existing '02 GTI? I bought mine used in the spring and that seems like the only option it didn't come with. Now that winter is around the corner I am really wishing I had said package....
Anyone have any information about that?

    Thanks

It is doubtful that you can get this done for cheap from the dealership, as your seats are different. However, you could get this done in the aftermarket. Lots of upholstery shops will install seat heaters for you in your stock seats for a minimal fee, and im sure you can splice in different nozzles w/ a power wire for cheap as well.

Simon's suggestion would be your best bet....or you could find some used seats and just buy the harness from VW. There always seems to be alot of seats floating around vortex and such

I think you're looking at 150-200 per seat for the pad to be installed, thats what a place local to me charges anyway.. but I'm in Winnipeg.

Good luck finding someone willing to ship, though.

Also, be careful in buying used heated seats as the elements to wear out.....and some models have a small fire related issue.

yeah but i was so disappointed when i realized my car didn't have heated seats. now i feel like i've been stripped of something.

i actually kept the dodge ... my GTI is just a kit car over a dodge shadow frame/engine. hhaha

                      wiring should be there
just need the seat covers if you got stock seats (and tools, manual, patience)
                      and switches

                      or see degreeves in calgary

is that $500 for both, or per seat? If it's for both, you probably won't find a better deal than that...

yeah, it's for both... $525 at Degreeve's. plus GST = approx. $560. I might go for it but I am still going to look around. I could buy 2 kits off ebay for about 175 - 200 bucks and then see if someone can install them for cheap perhaps...
