VF engineering diverter valve

Does any one have any input on this product?

I have a 02 gti 1.8t and i hear these are much better than stock. my car is not chipped i was just curious if i installed this if i would notice any differnce? Thanks.

I have on on my GTI, nice and shiny.

Over the stock valve, it's supposed to hold higher boost and you can change out the springs (very similar... if not the same... as the Forge unit)

I noticed a *slight* change in sound, and as I increased boost it was a bit louder... So for a turbo app running more than 8psi, you might hear it even more.

Not sure I'd spend the money though unless I needed a new valve...

I wouldn't recommend spending money on a DV unless:

- You already have a CAI and want that BOV sound
- You're going big-turbo

I have a CAI and i can hear the phsssss of the the stock dv valve when i release the throttle. will this one sound any differnt or better?

You can't really predict the sound but I think there is a good chance it will change, especially if you go from a diaphragm type valve to a piston type valve. The actual sound depends mostly on the materials of the CAI since that seems to echo/amplify the valve noises.

Its just a different type, they will both hold boost. The piston type doesn't have parts that wear out - you can take it apart and just clean it up and it will probably work forever. The diaphragm ones have a rubber piece that can wear out or tear. But a good DV will hold boost either way... probably minor difference if any.

HOW do you remove those damn clamps on the hoses connecting to the stock DV??

so i have to buy new clips? what new clips are good? the ones where you screw and they get tighter? like the ones on a CAI.
