sorry about the words but guys give your head a shake,we dont live in the tropics, where the parifin seperates from the fuel.no air no performance.....

Re: next mod: audi a4 tdi fuel cooling rail

"All engines will have a predictable variation in power output depending on the density of the fuel used. Engines using fuels with a high density will produce more power than those using fuels with a lower density because the thermal energy content of the fuel is higher. Since fuel is marketed by volume, lower density fuel carrying less thermal energy results in a proportional decrease in fuel economy or power output.

In general, lower viscosity results in lower power due to increased internal leakage in the fuel system. Also, lower viscosity fuels generally have lower thermal energy content. The effect viscosity has on power depends on the type of fuel system used.

Temperature causes changes in engine power because it affects both diesel fuel viscosity and density. An increase in fuel temperature will cause a decrease in viscosity, which will reduce power due to internal leakage in the fuel system as described above. The maximum recommended fuel pump inlet temperature for Cummins® engines is 70°C [158°F].

An increase in fuel temperature will also cause a decrease in fuel density (increase in API gravity), which will reduce power due to lower energy content of the fuel ...

Depending on the particular engine model involved, the engine horsepower will begin to decrease slightly above fuel inlet temperatures of 46°C [115°F]."

This is from the Cummins diesel site, they do know a thing or two about diesel engines. http://www.cummins.dk/fileadmin/doku...ns_Engines.htm

I don't know anything about Diesel engines nor do I know if this information applies in this case

Also found this on a diesel site:

Hot fuel reduces the life of fuel pumps on some diesel engines. In hot weather, keep the fuel tank as full as possible to reduce fuel temperature.

This doesnt necessarilly mean that this mod will help your performance though

            Check this out:

            http://www.electricfanengineering.com/thermal-.htm

Although this may or may not actually work...

It looks like there is basically an ideal temp for diesel fuel, and that is not too hot and not too cool. I don't think "hotter is better" is true, nor is "colder is better". In the summer I am SURE the cooler can't hurt you, but in the winter you might actually want to warm diesel fuel.

One more thing, if this is fitted an the A4 TDI, perhaps the poster above me can explain why?

GTX maybe you should get you $hit straight before you start making flaming posts. I am pretty sure Bart knows what he is doing.

well i guess if you want to waste your money go for it..as for pump failure
maybe if the diesel fuel is starting to boil before it hits the pump ya sure why not go for it...lol...

found this, just looking for something to back it up:

The max fuel temperature 130 F. For every 10 F above this you LOOSE 1% of your horsepower.

pretty genaric statement, but is based on expansion of diesel, and pump not being as efficent if moving diesel that has expanded in volume. The injectors are also not as efficient as the diesel it running through them at a lesser density.

wont help your cause unless it glowed in the dark and then at least it would look cool...

And yet you have supplied nothing to back up your bashing, but then again it is just and OEM part what does VAG know
