Had my wheels off to do a balancing today, and when I put em back on there was a clicking or pinging coming from the rear wheel. I pulled on the wheel and there seemed to be some slack, with the whole hub moving. So I took the wheel back off, and when I popped the cover off the hub nut, it was full of black crud. Also the hub wouldn't spin freely. I just want to try and confirm that this is the bearing that is gone.
I can order just the bearing or the hub assembly with the bearing and ABS speed sensor. Bently manual says the bearing is intregral to the hub assembly and can't be removed. Can the bearing be pressed out and replaced or must it go as a unit? Also is there a special tool required to remove the 12 point hub nut or can you get it at Princess Auto or wherever?
Thanks very much.
