my hood wont open, need help

so i go to pop my hood, it will pop up, but when i pull on the little thing to open it, it doesnt do anything. ive tried reaching in and doing it with my fingers but no luck, it just wont budge! anything like this happen to anyone before?

haha yea, u need to take out the grill if u can and pull the lever to open the hood
