Hey Icg2g, you saw me coming from Northland VW after getting my oil changed and having them look at some warranty work (I won't get into it cuz it will just piss me off and my blood pressure will rise). I was rolling on my stock 15's because I always make it a habit to swap out my 19's anytime I bring my car in for work. Yeah, I'm a real anal prick when it comes to my baby In fact, when they were done with the car and I picked it up, the tech (who was playing around with my ecodes) left them on for an hour:angry:

As for the oettinger goddies, they're the real deal. I just finished taking some picks of my car this morning. I managed to take them before the rain came down. I'm gonna be posting them on Vortex later for the hell of it, but here's a sneak preview.....

I want an Oettinger frnt bumper, but doesnt it sit quite low? And don't they have to cut your bumper to throw it on? I dont want anyone cutting my car up incase i need to sell it downt he road all OEM. oh ya, is fibreglass kinda bad for the winter? please educate me

      -edit-

Hey C Town do you live in Rocky Ridge? Because I live just down the street from you (beside tuscany) and have yet to see your ride around the area.

Yeah Puppage, the bumper does sit a little low. The first day I got it back from the shop I was so paranoid driving around cuz I'm not used to having the extra few inches hanging past the wheels. So far, so good though. I'm really careful in driveways and over speedbumps. My drop is only 1.5" so its no too bad. The stock bumper had to be cut, but I didn't really care. I've wanted an Oetti kit for so long. Besides, the stock bumper is fairly cheap, and my body shop is friends with the family so the work would'nt cost too much. The fiberglass that Oettinger uses is nothing likt "replica" fiberglass and is very durable. Even my body shop (having installed tons of kits before) was really impressed with the quality. As for winter durability, I'd imagine it would be a little more brittle when the mercury drops. But I drive a Mk2 Jetta in the winter so it's not really a consideration for me.

And yes, I do live in Rocky Ridge. Are you in the condo's at the bottom of the hill??

To be honest, if I drove my car year round I wouldn't have bought the Oettinger kit. Especially in our neck of the woods, the snow can get pretty burly at times. I think I might have gotten something like Dietrich or Projektzwo. They seem a little less prone to plowing because of their design.

Anyways, I was thinking of driving out to the next Club VeeDub meet. It'd be cool to put some faces to the names. When and where is the next "cult gathering" taking place?

                  Ya,

Keep an eye out for upcoming meetings. I've been bad too, i've missed the last few, but plan on going to the next ones for sure.

NVD is the best place to meet people who probably know your car better than you do. More importantly, if you ever run into problems, NVD members are a super helpful resource to help you out. I know this cause Peter has helped me out tremendously on a few occasions.

Hey, thanks for the compliments. I've been waiting a long time to get the car to where it is now. I had tons of problems with getting the Oettinger stuff. Took almost 5 months to get it. But now its kinda at the point where its almost finished. I posted on Vortex too and people seem to be recieving it well (So if you're on the 'Tex, reply to the post just to say wud up to a fellow Calgary dubber )

I'm sorta oblivious alot when I drive so if you come across me in the NW, just honk or flash those ecodes or somthing :mrlaugh:

Today I was on 32nd AVE NE and I saw a fellow dubber in an MK2....he obviously had some stuff done to it, and as i was turning onto a street i drive past him slowly and we just nodded at eachother. My friend commented "I love the dub respect!"
