  • Diesel additives?

Been doing ym research on additives. I am having a hard time finding out rating and what peopl elike to use most. I bought a bottle of STANADYNE all season conditioner for $6 here in Lethbridge. The bottle is good for 4 tanks. I have also heard that some like HOWES. Both are not easy to find here in town and both are $$. The Howes seems to be the best deal at $19 for 1.9L and it treats upto 3000L of diesel.
Does anyone know the research behind these? Is one better then the other? What do people use out there? I have about 5 others in town that have asked me who are having the same trouble.
    Thanks for the help.

    Re: Diesel additives?

i've been using the small bottles from Petro Canada. They are hard to find though, either they dont have any diesel additives, or its in the bigger bottles. 1 small bottle per tank, so I dont have to have opened bottles in the car (this stuff stinks). My reason for using PC stuff? I have a whack of Petro Points, and nothing to use them on. There is a noticable performance difference though.

Powerservice in the white bottle. As good a quality as anything else and easy to find. Almost any truck stop and Crappy tire is strating to carry it as well.

For measuring, I bought a bunch of 125 ml rectangular Nalgene bottles. They are made from HDPE which is the same as most fuel tanks, they are strong, the right size and never leak.

                $1.25 at MEC

Yep, I've had the same bottles for 4 years now as well. Never had a leak, which is my priority, as getting a spill of that stuff in the trunk is not something I would find very enjoyable.

Oh and I use a Coleman funnel for filling them. They are designed for filling camping stoves and have a built in filter. A few dollars at any camping store.
