  • Custom 3M Clear Bra thingy?

I seem to remember someone saying that they had a friend who did custom 3M clear protector stick-on thingies at Farfromhome. But I can't remember who.

I was thinking I would like one for the underside of my (soon to be painted) front valence. That way if I bump it the paint won't get chipped.

Does this seem like a good idea? Who can hook me up?

Its good protection! My hood would be thrashed if not for the strip on my car.

Maybe he can do both at once, how long until your kit goes on? My front won't be ready for at least 7 days.

Haha I wish! I didn't buy a kit - if you read the original post:

So actually I have a 4-motion euro front valence being painted, not a body kit. But it should look good, and if I find some Hofele lower grill inserts it should stand out a bit more than stock.

You know how sometimes you scrape the bottom of the front valence when you are going up a steep hill? (It happens more if you are lowered). Well I was thinking that if I get a thin strip of the 3m all across the bottom of the painted valence, if it hits concrete it won't ruin the paint (maybe scratch up the clear bra but who cares). Then I can always replace the 3m strip maybe every year or two if it gets too torn up.

So I am kind of thinking up a WHOLE NEW use for this 3m stuff. You won't really be able to see it on the bottom of the valence, it will just be for rub protection.

I'm getting mine done on the hood and the fender corners. I also booked another half hour for a yet to be determined application.

I was thinking of either on the bottom valence as was mentioned in one of the replies above,

                both side mirrors,

or a pass over top of the front windshield (ie. the front lip of the roof where it meets the windshield).

Anyone have any recommendations on which would be the most worth it for someone whose ride is never going to see a km of gravel in its life?
