    that carpet on the floor of your mk4 trunk/hatch

    according to what i've heard, the replacement cost is over $350. wtf?!

    I covered mine with some indoor/outdoor carpet for about 15 bucks. It's nice cause you don't have to worry about f*cking up you oem carpet. I use my trunk for work carring around my tools and stuff. I got the grey stuff (either forrest green or grey). I think it looks pretty nice IMO.

      Go to your local car audio store and buy some truck liner fabric. Bet you can get pretty much an exact match and it will be dirt cheap. Couldn't be any more than $10 a yard if I was to guess.

        I'm not paying for it. insurance is. i was just in complete shock when the appraiser told me how much it cost.

              What! I work at Future Shop and our installers stock carpeting for custom boxes and that sort. I cant imagine we pay more then $5/yard. Thats nutty

                And the OEM stuff isn't even nice carpet. More like fur, the shedding kind. I had a few pine needles back there and you pretty much have to pick them out by hand.
