  • Factory Key / Remote Question

The unlock button on my factory remote has stopped working. Thought it might be the battery, but the lock and trunk release buttons still work. Any thoughts?

As well, how do you open the remote to replace the battery? I can get the remote into two pieces, but for the life of me can't figure out where the remote side of it breaks apart for the batter compartment. Any help would be great.

    Thanks

Re: Factory Key / Remote Question

This happened to me, you just need to recode it to the car which is pretty easy. There is a step by step on the tdiclub but you do need a working remote to do it.

Switched batteries from one remote to the other, and now both remote work again. Go figure...voodoo magic maybe?

CR2032 3V battery if anyone was wondering.

Also, to answer my second question. Once the remote is in two pieces, put the key into the button half and pry open.
