      Re: Deck

That is the same question I was going to ask Alex. All they would have to do is tie into switched power of the harness they added. Really it baffels me why they just didn't do it anyways.

        Re: Deck

after what has been to my stereo in my 240sx, i stay away from cutting wires. with the antenna wire they wanted to cut it and install an aftermarket one. Now i have been doing some researching and found out you can order one that just plugs into the oem one, than into the aftermarket deck (saw it on VWvortex).

but seriously, i am looking for a 240sx harness now and its impossiable cause i want to fix the problem that has happened.

          Re: Deck

They should have just told you that, I don't think any shop in town has the right crimpers etc to cut coax and put a new end on. It is pretty easy to fix any wire that has been cut, a simple soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing is all it takes so there is no real reason to replace a whole wiring harness just for the audio and power cables.

Buddy, the antenna adaptor I showed you "just plugs into the oem one, then into the aftermarket deck "!! The only thing is like Stefan stated for AM it must be powered, which again is exactly what I showed you. Please stop making it sound like we don't know our ish, you simply told me you haven't listen to radio in over 2 years so I thought sure why not save you 25 bucks on this antenna adaptor. Again the part you have researched on the vortex is the part I showed you!

              Re: Deck

didn't even realize it. ahh what ever you guys did do a good job.

and i wasn't refering to you directly. it was visions who messed up, the one that joel used to work at. And when the guy who in the white was joking around my car getting messed up it freaked me out a bit. From someone who has had really shitty experience with car audio installs it took a bit for me to come in. I mostly did it because everyone hates how i still use the damn tape deck.

You guys did do a good job, i just wished it would have been flush.

                Re: Deck

Well thanks for clearing that up man, unfortunately as far as getting it to sit more flush its tough without extensive custom work. By all means we should be able to get it more flush by moving the cage back, but that does mean cutting out the support behind the deck, and paying the custom $$$. Again thanks for the good word and clearing up the confusion. PM me if you do want more info about the fit and/or antenna.

Any one have any pics of there deck in there mk4? I am still debating on weather or not to do this. I like the look of the stock set up, but if its going to make a major diffence in sound i might go through with it.
