  • General Exclaim UHP

    Hey guys...
Did a search, and see that there's only limited info. on General Exclaim UHP's on here. Anybody riding on these? How are they...in terms of noise, handling, wear pattern/resistance (may be hard to tell this early)? What about sidewall stretch on a 19x8"? Thanks guys.

    Re: General Exclaim UHP

My friend is putting these on his Subaru (I think 17") and should be on his car any day. I'll ask him about them after he's had them for a week or two if you'd like. I recall Disturbo putting Generals on his car but I'm not positive which model of tire he is running.

I have them on my 19X8.5 with 235/35/19 and 19X9.5 265/30/19. Noise is there, but is expected with any performance tire to have some. Handling is really good. Cant tell on tread wear, only had them a month. Definatley worth the price. Not positive if I have the UHP, I double check later.

Thanks guys - Mefro, I knew you had them and was hoping you'd respond. Yeah, let me know if you have the UHP. How bad is the noise...say factory tires are a '1' for noise...are these like an '8' or '7'?

I'm running 235/35/19's and compared to my old Kuhmo extasca MX's they are fantastic...I think they are quite quiet for the profile, they have a high treadwear rating, and they are awesome for the price!

              Re: General Exclaim UHP

With the recent change-of-plans regarding my wheel/tire combo () I'll now be putting on these General Exclaims. A stumbled across an unbelievable deal and couldn't pass it up even though ideally I'd be picking up some Toyo T1Rs.

I'll let you know how they turn out as soon as I get 'em on!

Yup they are UHP, and for noise id say more like 4 or 5. They are not that bad for noise, and definately worth the price.

                  Re: General Exclaim UHP

I have tons of customers running on these tires and overall the reviews are good. They are obviously not meant to compete against a T1R or SO3 or anything like that in regards to the highest level of hardcore sport or anything quite like that, but they are made for the person who wants decent levels of ability in a tire that will not wear out in a heartbeat. The are more what I refer to as "sportier/touring".

As for the noise factor, they are not the quiest tire you will find, but by no means are they the noisest either. Noise is very subjective, Everybody is succeptible to hearing different tones and pitches better or worse than others (kinda like a dog can hear higher pitches than humans), so if you notice it more or less than someone else, it is normal. I can't tell you how many customers say a tire is noisy, when to me it is whisper quiet, or vice versa, where I think it sounds like a tractor, and they don't notice anything at all... Go Figure...

                    Re: General Exclaim UHP

I have the exact same as Mefro and as long as I have the radio on I cant hear any noise from my tires unless you get a rough road but the could be just the fact that they are 19" wheels. I had KUMO EXSTAS on my stock rims which were 17" and I like the Generals way better especially when it is wet out. I have put about 10000KMS on in the past 2 months I do sales if your wondering but it doesnt even look like there worn yet where my Kumos I only got 20000kms out of them but they where bald way before that. I was just saving for my new wheel package. I think it is because its a harder rubber then the Kumo but I could be wrong... Long story short great tires and there the cheapest ones out there because not alot of people know about them yet..
Its time for the wheels !!Finally!!
