Does anyone have, or know where to get a new or relatively up to date Nav cd for Canada that will work with the OEM VW Nav system MFD-G? I found a place on the net called Midwest Electronics that has the set for North America but its definetly a bit pricy for a whole lot of maps I won't be using (though the last update was 11-05 which is pretty current).

I probably will be getting the full set eventually, but at least want Canada until I do... Willing to trade.

Yes, please let us know if you find a cheap (ie: free) updated NAV cd. I'm sick of driving around in these new neighbourhoods that show up as en empty field on my screen. Been "lost" in evergreen more times than I care to remember!

What version Navi do you have? I saw your post on VWNavi.com about getting your phatbox to work with the mfd, right now I'm having a problem with the Navi not recognizing the phatbox and I'm not sure how to fix it with the MFD-G.

Mine is the "D" version, and I found out later that I was one of a very few that had to solder (sp.) jumper wires onto the mainboard of the Phatbox (Eddie Fiola Mod). Usually it is straight plug n' play, but as with everything I seem to do....it's never that easy.

Does that phatbox light up (red, green, blinking)? Or does it just stayed powered off? Mine would light up (even after modifying the board) but the "CD" function on the navi wouldn't work. Make sure that the cd/phatbox harness is pushed ALL THE WAY into the navi harness. It might feel like it's in there, but there is actually a lot of room for it to move around. I had to dremel my navi harness so that I could stick it all the way in
