Recommend me a mechanic

have a couple of electrical issues i can't seem to sort out, looking to get someone to do them but dont want to pay an arm and a leg at the dealership cause its like $100/hr for electrical stuff.

looking for someone who knows they stuff. its for a mk3 VR6. issues aren't mind boggling i just am useless when it comes to electrical. issues are with indicators and gas gauge. i am pretty sure i know whats going on and where the issue is, just dont know how to resolve them.

Well again i'm going to say tunedub, he's probably super busy these days but charges less than 100 an hour and gives a reduced rate to club members (I guess you should have bought a membership off me ). He's a VW certified mechanic but also does a lot of custom stuff.

The only scary thing is with electrical, you can never really be too sure how long it might take to diagnose.

ya ya ya i will have to buy a membership. i am pretty sure i have it diagnosed. a simple voltmeter test in the areas will be certain, i just dont have the tools to do it.

I have volt meter if you think that will help. I might actually even remember how to use it

Just call George at Tunedub. His shop is just off Mac trail.
Dave is great but he works from his house, so he may not always have the time

yea they are still not working after swapping them and have NO idea why. i wish i hadnt touched them.

But the question is did you call tunedub??

Anyway, the flasher works (because your 4 ways work). The lights are working (because your 4 ways work) and it can't be a fuse (because your 4 ways work). So perhaps you have something hooked up wrong or the switch on the stock is messed. That's the only thing I can think of.

I do have a a voltmeter though if you want to borrow it. I'm in the NW.

yea i think its the switch in the stalk. its just getting the time to do it. i am working 75+ hours a week at the moment and i have to go on site tours again tomorrow. only got back at 8pm tonite from meetings all day in edmonton. no time to drive car, let alone work on it.
