    Hey guys,

Just noticed that my horn doesnt beep when I lock the doors. Is there a fuse somewhere? I get a blink out of the indicators, but no horn...

    Cheers guys!

check if the interior light responds to all the doors. the car may think a door is open. this happened to me, needed a new latch.

i go to arm my car and it will beep but it sometimes wont actually lock the doors. i have to unarm the car with the button then arm it then it will work..

I have this problem on my car too but have yet had time to fix it. If I unlock all the doors then lock them it does work though. If you have a jetta there is a trunk latch that is plastic and tends to fail all the time but if you have a golf open and close all doors, hood and trunk then see if it goes away. If not you may have a broken solder joint in one of the door latches that can be fixed rather then replacing it.

Umm your car is probly just stuck in slient mode .. its just an option that you can put your car into .. think you need a vag com to change it back or if you have multifuntion display thingy-mo-bob you can change it in their.

tried to open all the doors and shut them all real good... nothing.. but my interior light doesnt go on when i open the hatch, just the wee one inside the hatch.. is that the problem you think? or do you think a vag-com is the way to go?

Do you have a golf or jetta? Can you lock the car with the trunk open? I know the microswitch on my golf trunk is also screwed but you have to replace everything to change it and also I haven't had time to fix it. If you lock the car after opening the trunk mine locks all doors but will not beep for a minute or so as it defaults as trunk closed as it is getting nothign from the switch. Your car is not in silent mode there is no magical way for an electronic part to just decide to turn that on.

I had this problem for a while with my hood not being 100% closed.

sometimes my car alarm will go off by itself too, also this has happened a few times ill be driving down the road and my car will start beeping and all my interior lights will come on, happened at race city scared the crap outta me haha. but i think it might have been from my hood not being shut properly, but it happened a different time and the hood was shut so.. im confused

Sounds like the little pin switches in the latch, very common. The scan tool can tell you which one last triggered the alarm so you know which one it is or just look at the door/interior light. Changed lots of them.
