MK4 GTi: 1.8T or VR6?

Hey guys. I am in the market to buy myself a new car. I was thinking the MK4 GTi but am not sure whether to get a 1.8T or a VR6. I have driven the Audi A6 with the VR6 but it was auto and from what I remember, I wasn't impressed. Although that could of been because the car was in crap shape. If anyone has any suggestions, good or bad, I am all ears.

I am thinking of modding the car but probably not huge. Mainly cosmetic.

its all personal preference, drive both and decide for yourself

The only problem that I have is that it is hard to test drive either of them. Also does anyone know if any dealerships are still selling new MK4 GTis?

5th Ave. still had lots of "new" MK4 when I searched their inventory a couple of weeks ago....so I'm sure the dealerships still have a few, but probably no VR's

Alright then. Thanks for the information guys. I am leaning towards the 1.8 right now but I will have to wait and see I guess.
