  • Few little Questions About GTI

I have a mk4 gti turbo, and i had a couple little questions. I know this might sound dumb but in the factory head lamps there are clear cycle things under the signal lights, what the hell are they for, fog lights or something, how do i turn them on lol. And what guages do you guys think is important to have with a gti. boost for sure, and others? or all u really need is boost?

If you have a GTI, those are fog lights, you turn them on by pulling on the headlight switch when the headlights are on (assuming you don't have a euroswitch)......as for gauges, boost is handy if you're going to be modding, otherwise the next best is A/F (again if you're going to be modding)

Thats truly the worst thing you can do with the fogs.....I brought a set of philips gold bulbs back from europe with me a long time ago, they are yellow...the stocks are plain halogens.....Yellow is chosen for fog lights due to yellow reducing glare, and increasing contrast. if you stick hyper white bulbs in there and you actually choose to use your fogs for their intended purpose you won't see ****.....

Re: Few little Questions About GTI

if that's the case then you should trade headlamps with me so you can have the non-fog light version

A/F gauge won't tell you squat unless you use a dedicated O2 sensor. I know that if you tap off the factory O2 sensor you'll just see the light bounce back and forth because the ECU is operating in closed loop mode.

I'd get the 42 draft designs kit and get oil temp, pressure and either water temp or battery voltage.
