  • N75 " h " valve

How much are these things? Do I just go to Audi parts and service to buy them?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly do they do anyway?

Theres some info for ya =)

I put back my old 710N DV and it seems to hold boost better then the porsche one. Im thinking cause of the stiffer spring I have on the 710N. Peter and Chris did some miracle clipping to get those 3 clamps off. ^_^

So basically the N75 valve is just the german equivalent of a BOV, right?

Nope the N75 is not like a BOV. The Diverter Valve (DV) in Volkswagens serves the same purpose as a BOV except it recirculates the air instead of venting it. You can replace the stock DV with an aftermarket DV or a BOV if you want.

The N75 is an electronically controlled wastegate valve. You can only replace this with other N75 valves for other Audi/VW cars. Some people have transplanted the valve from an S4 into a Jetta for instance. Usually the different valves are referred to by their letters eg. "H" "C" "J" etc.

You really can't say without the gauge. The delivery may feel slightly different between the valves, but its pretty much impossible to say if its holding boost better just by feel.

my "J" valve which I'm loving right now was $85. less spike (supposedly) but higher boost at redline

I'm interested too. I'm thinking that will be my next mod.

I was quoted $63.54 for this part (p/n 06A 145 710N) at Glenmore Audi. Is this the right part number?

What do you guys think about the post below. I found it on dubtuning.com. It sounds like replacing the N75 really does nothing in the end.

I have a full APR stage 2(4 program chip, turbo-back exhaust, custom APR CAI) with a Forge Diaphram DV....

I installed it and initially it was awesome....I could definately notice a difference....

Ok, 1st lets explain how it works....Under normal operating conditions the engine's ECU sends signals to the N75 valve asking it to open or close which adds or reduces pressure on the wastegate actuator which results in more or less boost.

The ECS "RACE" N75 valve modifies the normal operating parameters of the original N75 valve by delaying the speed at which these ECU signals are interpreted.

Ecs didn't realize that our ECU's ('02 &'03) have a learning program in them....

Now what happen to me was, it worked for about 2 weeks or so and then the ECU began to learn what the "Race" N75 was doing by slowing the speed at which the ECU's signals are interpereted....And the ECU compensated for that and reverted to the "stock interpertation speed"(for lack of a better phrase).

So I was back to stock settings using a $89.95+installation "Race" N75 that wasn't so racey!!!! I can't even reset my ECU because I am chipped!!!!

I am in the process now of getting a new "updated" one from ECS....We'll see what happens?!?! Hope that helps!!!!

That might have some merit. The ECU does monitor the state of the engine and boost levels and could try to compensate for what the N75 is doing.

However, if this is true and all N75 valves are the same, why does VW/Audi make different N75 valves for each of their cars?
