Question RE: Tire Pressure on my Pilot Sport - 225/40-18's.

For the GTi's weight and characteristics, what do you guys suggest as a tire pressure for the following 2 situations:
    (1) Performance (ie. Cornering, Handling, etc.) Tire Pressure (Front/Back)?
    (2) Comfort (ie. Opposite of a Bone-jarring ride) Tire Pressure (Front/Back)?

Just curious, as I have struggled with what the "proper" tire pressure should be for my ride? I guess, if anything, the above questions are basically looking for a High/Low pressure suggestion.

    Thanks in advance...

    Re: Tire Pressure

im running 40psi all around. It's what CMS set it up as when I got my rims. I like it, it's fairly stiff but still a comfortable ride.

Also it's not so soft that one little bump and you screwed up your rim.

Yikes! I don't think I've had mine any harder than 34 psi. Hmmm... Obviously, its a personal choice... but due to the stiffer suspension on my car, the higher psi's are awesome on slick pavement... but irritating on "less than ideal" conditions.

Any other thoughts greatly appreciated. Cheers...

Stock 15s, I run at 34 all round. My 17s were 33 front, 36 rear. And the new 18s are at 39 all around, and seem pretty good.

Well... talk about a historical post back from the dead... but I thought I would post anyways. After staying with my 34psi all around for the last couple years... I was cornering hard onto Deerfoot last weekend... you know the place I'm sure... Eastbound Glenmore to Deerfoot South... Highly recommended. Anyhow, was toying with a Sunfire who thought he was driving a C7 corvette.

Anyhow, after severely hurting the Sunfire's feelings and enjoying a nice relaxing breakfast at Ricki's... I came out to my car to notice that the tires had lost almost 1/2 their air on the one side. My guess is to the lack of air, combined with the ramp up in tire temperature from the cold morning to the agressive cornering... helped to crack the "tire seal" or whatever and made the tires lose pressure.

Well... 3 days later... I'm running 40psi all around and suffice to say... Guysmiley, thanks for the post! ...Even if its 2 years later!

              Cheers all...

                Re: Tire Pressure

I run my backs a little softer than the front, helps comfort in the back seat and slips a little more in the rear when cornering
