  • car DVD player question

This one is for all you car audioguys:
my brother just bought a alpine 770M dvd sceen and a 5210 DVD slave drive that hooks into his current deck. their are 2 wires that are suposed to hook into the E brake and one into the break light wire (I thinK). does anyone know how to bypass the security feature that stops the player while the truck is in motion (not that the driver would ever be watching) this unit is going in a 2003 gmc truck if it makes a difference
    cheers
    T

I'll get my bro to post how he did it. He setup his PS2 on his, and bypassed all the security features. it works well.

          Re: car DVD player question

The older units just need the ebrake grounded, the newer ones are harder to disable and require some soldering to connect leads. Google your exact model to get the instructions (if any).

Yeah, it depends, some of the newer units (like pioneer Avic N2) have a gyro in the brain which detects motion. Most units still use ground signal though.

If you want an easy way to do it, Alpines are relativly easy. I just did mine this week. Go on ebay and buy a PAalpine bypass. It's a little elctronic box that will fix all the problems and allow you to run EVERYTHING all the time. It also cuts power with the key turn, ext...

Let me know if you need anymore info....what did you do by the way?
