What's up with diesel prices?

Just wondering why (believe me, I'm not complaining) diesel prices have not increased while gasoline has gone through the roof?

Price has been at 85.9 at the station I buy from since early March and is still at that price as of my fill-up this evening.

Last time gas prices went skyward so did diesel; what is the difference this time?

ya, its been goin up...maybe not as much, but ti cost me $42.50 to fill up yesterday which is above the norm.

For some reason Diesel always seem to lag petrol prices...unfortunately on the way back down too.

I filled up last week but was still fairly normal, but it should start to creep up a bit. I think diesel consumption is usually a bit more consistent then the demand fluctuations of regular gas keeping prices stable. However I really cannot complain as in my 9 months of owning my Smart I have only had a couple fills more than $20

Esso in Country Hills...Country Hills Blvd, East of Harvest Hills Blvd. This station just started selling diesel in November and have been agressively priced ever since.

Last time there was a shortage of supply due to a shortage of refining capacity. This time, oil prices are just higher.
