in very hot weather, detonation can occur earlier so it is recommended not to try and cheat your octane down either during hot summer driving

so i thought i'd give this a try. i've already found that my car runs better on premium that regular, i thought i'd try different brands too. i filled up with shell gold after my regular tank ran out. as i stated in a previous post, it ran much better. since that ran out, i filled up with petro can premium. not nearly the same performance as the shell. it got worse as the tank got near the end so i felt it was a long enough test. wont go back to it. unfortunately, i was almost out of gas and had to through 10 bucks in it. (i used shell cause its next door to my work). i want to fill up with another brand when its out. this is in my stock 90 jetta. i will keep you guys posted.

all my trucks and cars run 87 octane,for myself it's a big savings but i also
have fuel coolers installed.makes a big difference in performance with
cheap gas.
