My brakes on my 02 gti 1.8t are starting to shake. people have told me there is just a build up of crap on them and it will go away but it is diffinetly not. ANy one have any good susjestions on break rotors and pads to buy? dont want to spend millions on breaks but maybe some half decent ones that are slotted or cross drilled or something. thanks!

The back breaks are a pain you have to turn the piston while pushing it back in. I heard theres a special tool for the job but I used a vice and a little pressure then you turn the caliper reclamp and repeat. (Really slow and not the right way but it worked for me) The fronts you just push the piston back in. Oh yea make sure you open the bleed valve you dont want all that old junk going back up into your cylinder. Good luck

yeah, its a free rental for the good version of that tool from partsource.. well worth it IMO... the 'cube' style one from can. tire works too, just not as smooth of a process.Stefan
