I just took my mk3 in for a check up at South Centre(going to try Tune Dub next time, $91/h aint my cup o tea)and they told me my front springs are cracked and I'd better do something about it soon. I'm looking to lower it now a bit and I don't know anything about this. I don't want coilovers yet. What is a good kit for the money that will drop my front around 60/40? I've heard the FK's are okay but what else is there? Can I get anything in town beside going to C-1?

Re: suspension kits
I have been looking into this myself as I plan on lowering my car this spring. If you just want springs, most suspension companies sell just lowering springs. This will wear out the stock shocks and struts faster as they will be compressed most of the time.
I have been thinking about an H&R cup kit (available at EUtuning). This is springs and shocks/struts. A buddy of mine can get Vogtland cup kits from a company out in Surry (http://www.kineticmotorsport.com/cat...l?currency=CND). He is getting a quote on them for me now. Bit cheaper than H&R, less lowering, don't really know anything about them. They use Koni shocks, which I think is the same as FK kits.
If price is the main factor, springs will run between $250 and $500. Cup kits about $700 and up.
I'm sure someone will say if I'm way out to lunch on this, but that is what I have found so far.Jeff
