  • $1,367.25 for 4 tires?

I haven't purchased any performance tires in the past. Is this price excessive? Am I going over board with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's? Sorry, I could use a reality check here. Price includes taxes and shipping.

That sounds about right, I was looking at some Michelin Pilot A/S at Costco that came to a total of about $1200 give or take $50. Same with some Hankook and Pirelli, not sure exactly how much they were but they were definetly in the same ballpark as that.

Not too familiar with Goodyear prices. But it sounds a tad on the pricey side. I just bought a set of Toyo T1R's (mounted, balanced, and 8.25% CA taxes included) for $866USD (approx $1000CDN)

tires are stupidly expensive. I paid just under 1k for some khumos, so 13 for some goodyears sounds about right

Sounds about right for a set of 18's.

Hmmm, still not sure about that. The $1000CDN for my Toyos I mentioned in my last post was for 19's! I just checked TireRack and they have the F-1's listed at about $900US including shipping for 19's (about $1050CDN).... You might want to keep shopping around

                2 x 225/40/18 on 18x8's
                2 x 245/35/18 on 18x9's

I found them for about $1177 (all taxes/shipping included) on TireRack, so thanks, that's a bit better. The original price I quoted was from TireTrends. I was quoted $1800+ from Fountain Tire here in town. Ha! What a joke!

Any comments on my size selection? Would you go with 245/35's or 245/40's on the rear (18x9's)? My car's been dropped about 1.5" from stock, so I'm sure that 245/40's would fit just fine. That would increase the radius of the tires by about 10 mm over my stock 17" Longbeaches (I think). I beleive that the stock tires are 225/45's.

After the brokerage fee then your bill will ended up the same. No save. I was told CMS will have a spring sale like two weeks later.

So you want comments on your tire size. Stagger tire size make the car handle very weird on a FWD.

Yes never underestimate the Brokerage, Duty and GST... so tempting to think things are going to be cheaper from the states.

                        Try carmodifier.com

They have good prices and great tires if you like pirelli. They would even mount and balance, ship to your door. Canadian too... Just around the corner from my old hood...

I've factored in about 15% for taxes/customs/brokerage. That's usually in the ballpark. Still cheaper at TireRack by a couple hundo.

Is that from personnal experience that you feel that the car will handle "weird" with staggered tires? I've driven a couple of FWD's with staggered wheels and never noticed anything unusual. An extra 0.8" of rubber in the back really can't throw things off all that much...
