I should have clarifed above:
I put in the Upsolute chip in my TDI. Worked well. Within 10,000 Km of putting in a K&N air filter to compliment the chip, the MAF was toast. Put in a new MAF, threw out the K&N, and I really got to see what the Upsolute could do.
I've also read that with a chip like this, the programming/computer is able to detect fuel/cetane quality, so I've always run Stanadyne Performance Formula as well, and I can certainly feel a difference running it compared to any other additive I've tried. Not sure if Upsolute has any official suggestions/recs. around fuel quality/additives/cetane.
I'm guessing if the Upsolute programming is the same between the European and N.A. models, then an additive would help with performance since Euro diesel has a much higher cetane level.
