      Play nice Bart...

Stig, I would shift around 3k. Also depends on your driving style. The more you get to know your car the easier it will be to know when to shift.

^yeah 3-3500 rpm to shift at. It is pretty much useless going over 5 grand no v-tech like a honda torque is at lower rpm than a honda

For stock, just after 6K. After chipped I'd say a bit earlier, maybe 5500.

yeah i was mostly asking the question as if say u took it stock to the track, to get the fastest 1/4 mile what would be the best point? why do u need to shift earlyer after you have chipped it?

ya umm ignore his graphs, cause they are c1 made...

look at them, they aren't supposed to be so bumpy, if its not c1's fault, then his engine is running really badly!

the horsepower on a 1.8t should probably rise steadily up almost until redline, and not start dropping off like that!

here is an example of a GOOD graph...

                    Re: shift point.

Way to rehash the same boring old argument you always bring up. If you want to use smoothing on the graph, you can.

But if mustang dynos make you hard, here you go.

And imagine that, the drop-offs look pretty darn similar.

The point was when the drop in curve happens, not about whether a 33% drivetrain loss mustang dyno is more accurate. Yeesh.

                      Re: shift point.

i'm not saying mustang dynos are better in this thread, just that c1 dyno is wrong. look at that and your mustang dyno, drops at 4700rpm at c1 and after 6000rpm (like it should...) on the mustang dyno... hmmmmmm wonder why?

                        Re: shift point.

You're reading the C1 graph wrong again (I think you said the same thing when originally posted). Right at the intersection it was a really faint smudge so I tried to fix it with a pencil.

On the chipped c1 dyno, the hp drops off at 6K exactly, while the TQ starts dropping at about 4800. The HP is the top line. It is almost the exact same match as the mustang dyno.

I'm going to have to erase that crappy pencil mark.

the 1st post without color looks like the middle line just goes up and comes down, see what color can do!
