  • Lightened flywheel on a mk4 jetta 1.8t?

Ok so my car is gonna need a new clutch soon, and im planning on getting the package from C1. The autotech lightened steel flywheel with the sachs 228mm vr6 clutch. i was wondering if any of you have this and how well it works? Actually my main question is what are the downsides of having a lightened flywheel? So far I have just found out that my car will not idle as good as stock. I already know basically the benefits revs up faster blah blah.. but from experience is it worth it? thanks

I have this setup in my car now for 3 year now and still going strong. I love the feel of the stock clutch and it wont slip even with 350hp..

Actually Simon had this done and I think it was around a grand installed, which for a clutch job isn't bad at all. Check for parts prices though for sure.

Yah, about $1000 installed parts included going the C1 route. I really like it, stock drivability while still knowing it can handle the added power I throw at it. If you're doing clutch anyway, its stupid not to do flywheel at the same time.

I put the G60 clutch and flywheel on my car it was about 1000 bucks installed bought the clutch from C1 it works great no problems I really like the feel of it very light feeling.... $1000 for a clutch I feel is pretty resonable.
Its time for the wheels !!Finally!!
